TTT: Titles did it!

TTT

Hi Munchworms!

This week’s topic for The Broke and the Bookish‘s Top Ten Tuesday is “Unique Book Titles”, but – once again – I’m giving my own twist to it.

There are so many unique book titles out there, that I’m going to go with the book titles that immediately grabbed my attention. Okay, sometimes the cover has something to do with it as well, but it also happens that the title just goes: “READ ME!

Daughter of the Pirate King (Daughter of the Pirate King, #1)Now this one I hadn’t heard a thing about before the title popped up on my screen. I saw it and just.. Jack Sparrow. That’s what immediately resonated in my mind. It said “pirate” so I simply had to have it. Read it. Worth it!!

He Said/She Said Reading that title I immediately imagined that there would be two POV’s. One boy, one girl and then.. Let the fight begin! Okay, no, not really. I just thought we’d get both sides of a story filled with miscommunication. Then I read the blurb and was SOLD.

Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1)The title of this one just oozed darkness, in my humble opinion. I was intrigued immediately! Safe to say I just went ahead and bought it. Haven’t bought the sequel yet, since I wanted to read this one first and then decide – but I’ll probably order it. Because, you know, I’m me.

Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)If you know me a bit, you might know that I try to go to London at least once a year. One of those years I went on a Jack the Ripper walk with my mom, so obviously.. When I saw this title I just went “Jack the Ripper? LONDON! YES!” and had to have it. Because. London.
Okay, I admit I also ordered Hunting Prince Dracula but, you know, that’s normal.

A Semi-Definitive List of Worst NightmaresI’m a bit of a mean person when it comes to people and their fears – sometimes, not when it comes to really serious things! – so this one grabbed my attention because of that. I immediately thought of all the things someone would go through if they’d actually make a list like that.

The Library of FatesAnd now, for the most obvious one ever…

Are you ready?!

It says “library”.

The Dog Walker's DiaryI love dogs. Although I don’t have any, my mom has two and I miss those two fluffballs so much. Reading this title, I honestly was curious about what a dog walker would possible write in her diary. Reading the blurb, I was even more sold! Definitely worth a read!

Spellbook of the Lost and FoundBook!
Spellbook!
YES PLEASE!

They Both Die at the EndNow, that title, that’s one that made me go.. “Okay, so we know how it ends already?!” Am I the only one who wants to find out how invested we can get in a story while knowing the end? I’ve read some reviews of people thinking they wouldn’t get invested and ended up crying!

I still really need to read this one. At least I already bought it by now..

The Diabolic (The Diabolic, #1)I honestly keep forgetting what this book is about – sue me, I haven’t read it yet, okay?! – but the title makes me want to keep it on my TBR!

I’ll buy it eventually, haha!

So, any of you agree? Or would’ve added these titles for some other reason?

  1. Great choice in titles! Also, I just finished They Both Die At The End and dude, you need to get on it right away. The characters were so well developed and the writing was beautiful. It’s one of my favourites of the year.

  2. Great list! I love that you put your own twist to it! I hope you eventually get Diabolic! It was really good, I really loved the MC! And I really need to read Nevernight, ahhh!! The title certainly captured my eye, you’re right about that! 😄

    1. *Moment of shame*

I made this post like weeks ago and then today saw that I put some thing on here that weren’t right anymore. Like “HAVEN’T READ THIS ONE YET. BUT WILL.” with one I already read by now.
Then “Need to buy this one still!” with one I just bought last Friday. [They Both Die At The End, haha.]

Ugh. Scheduled posts aren’t always that.. handy.. :’D

  3. The library of fates! Yes, indeed, that does sounds like a great book. Even though I have no idea what it’s about or what the genre is, but it has the word library in it. Sold. 🙂

    Great list of unique titles.

  4. Haha. I am the same. Throne of Glass is amazing. And I just got one of my friends onto it, she hasn’t really read YA before (She’s 28) and I started her off with ACOTAR and then ToG. And she loves them both.

    1. It is! I read ACOTAR first and simply wanted more of Maas’ writing. Still not sure whether I like ToG better or not, haha.
And age doesn’t really matter when it comes to good books! Even my mom is reading the ACOTAR-books right now and she adores them, haha.

    1. I just finished Crown of Midnight and since BookDepository is being a pain in my.. my.. you know. I think I’ll pick up Stalking Jack the Ripper next. Or just cancel the BD-order and order them somewhere else because I need more Throne of Glass, darn it..
Nevernight would also be an option.. Except for the fact that I’ll want the sequel if I like the book and I’m practically broke, haha. :’)
