Hi Munchworms!
It’s almost time for a new year, which means time to think about new reading goals, challenges and read-a-thons to join!
Now, I’ve been thinking about my 2018 reading goals for quite some time. As you might know, I joined the Popsugar Reading Challenge in 2017 but after checking the 2018 prompts… I was kind of disappointed. So I decided to pick out a bunch of fun prompts from… everywhere really… and created my own giant 2018 bingo!
Apart from that, I decided to add a whole bunch of other challenges for myself. You could say that each challenge has its own category and all categories together are..
The Book & Munches Reading Challenge 2018!
Now isn’t that a mouthful…
This is a challenge purely for myself, but if you want to join in, feel free to do so! You can make adaptions all you want!
General Goal
Books to read in 2018: 150 [Currently read in 2017: 146]
Pages to read in 2018: 55.000 [Currently read in 2017: 50.000+]
Physical TBR
I currently have 141 books on my physical TBR-shelves, at the time of writing this post.
However. I know there are 9 books on their way, I still have this month’s FairyLoot and I might get some books for Christmas… So let’s say I have about 160 unread books on my physical TBR.
I’ll be trying to get those down to 100 by the end of next year!
Series Challenge
Reread Harry Potter
Reread The Raven Boys
Read A Song of Ice and Fire series
Genre Challenge
Mystery: -/3
Classics: -/4

[I went with genres that I rarely read or would like to read a bit more of.]
Books & Munches Bingo 2018
Alphabet Challenge
I’ll be focusing on the last name of the author for this.
I’m going to add a new tab at the top of my blog with my 2018 reading challenges near the end of December or at the start of January – since my owned TBR has to be completely up to date, haha.
It looks like you’ve set yourself some pretty nice reading challenges and goals for 2018. And your bingo prompts look pretty interesting. I may sort of casually take on the challenge. Usually I just read whatever sounds interesting.

Thank you!
I literally got those prompts all over the place. The largest part comes from the Popsugar Reading Challenge and then I added some from all over.
Hope you have fun if you decide to take it on as well! 🙂

Looks like fun! I’m not really focusing on specific reading challenges for 2018, but it’ll be fun to check in and compare notes with where your reading challenge takes you! 🙂

Thanks! I’m looking forward to sharing my progress as well, haha. Especially wondering how many of these goals I’ll actually succeed at.

I love that you are trying to read genres you don’t normally read!
I also love that you made your own bingo board! You have a lot of great tiles on there!😊🎉

Thank you! I figured it would motivate me a bit more to get out of my comfort zone. Although I like reading my regular genres, it always feels pretty special to find an author in a completely different genre that I end up loving!
Thank you!! 🙂

I don’t typically join reading challenges but yours looks like something I would be into! Thanks for putting it together, and sharing it with everyone.

I haven’t even thought about what challenges I’m going to do for 2018. It’s still top early in December for me to start thinking about it.

I’ve been thinking about it for a while, haha. But I like to plan a bit too much, I guess. I’ve been looking forward to ticking of prompts for over a month now. Still three weeks to go!
