Hi Munchworms!
Welcome to the last Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! Starting next week, Top Ten Tuesday will move to That Artsy Reader Girl.
The last topic is “Books I wanted to read in 2017 but didn’t get to!”
There’s a whole lot of those, so I tried picking a couple that I really look forward to reading even though it won’t be this month. Otherwise, this would just be my January Jam Jar TBR all over again…
I would put The Book Thief at the top of your Must Read books this year if I could. It is one of the most memorable books I’ve ever read. Just be prepared to Ugly Cry your heart out and have to stop reading for a bit because you can’t see through all the tears.

I’m totally up for that! Don’t know yet when I’m going to read it but it’ll definitely be this year. I want to read all the books in this post desperately. I HAVE to, haha.

YESSSSS to Stalking Jack! I love that series so damn much and I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!

I miiight read it next month. Or not. God, I don’t even know anymore. Next month is fantasy-month. :’) And I have too many boooooks.

I mean… fantasy… historical fiction… those could go together, riiiiight?

Wasn’t it narrated from death’s perspective? Shouldn’t it somewhat count as fantasy / paranormal?
LikeLike
Sadly, ’twas not – it’s narrated from the perspective of Audrey Rose Wadsworth, a young girl studying to become a mortician. She’s totally delightful, though.

Darrrnnn it. There goes my perfect excuse.. Maybe it’ll fit a prompt of my March bingo..

So many great books on your list! Stephen King is one of those authors who I feel I MUST read one day. I also feel like I’m one of the very few people in the world who still hasn’t ready anything by Jay Kristoff, either, LOL. Thanks for stopping by my TTT! 😀

I had the same feeling when it came to King! Now I have a whole shelf of his books I have yet to read but I did read The Shining last year and pretty much fell in love with his writing style so I’m confident I’ll like the lot of them, haha. [Apart from IT. That one is going to freak me out and I know it.]
We can’t have read all the authors! Unfortunately.. There are simply too many, haha.
You’re welcome! ❤

There are simply too many books.. We’re bound to forget about some of them if we can only pick ten, haha.
I know! I’m trying my best to read it as soon as possible but there are so many other books I have to get through!
Thank you!

Your title is so positive. 😉 The Last Namsara and The Book Thief are both so good. Stalking Jack the Ripper was just average for me.

Sometimes you need positivity so you don’t sit in a corner and cry because you’re never going to make it, haha.
Ooh, boo that SJTR was average for you! I’ve heard great things about it.

Hahaha. Neverending TBR’s. It’s what we’re best at!

I loved the Book Thief and I enjoyed The Power, though it’s never going to go down as an absolute favourite of mine. It was a book that makes you think and want to discuss it. I found it a very quick book as well.
I’ve got The Last Namsara, Daughter of the Burning City, A Man Called Ove and Stalking Jack the Ripper on my ‘books I didn’t get to in 2017’ as well, though not on my actual list. There are so many books in that category 😀
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh, it’s always good to know which books are the quick ones! 😀
Haha, I know. I have like.. my whole owned TBR in that category? I can hardly make a post with all.. uhm.. 150..
LikeLiked by 1 person
I know! I own about 40 unread physical books (and don’t even get me started on the ones on my Kindle) but they would take absolutely forever to make a list for 😀
Yeah, sometimes you just want a quick book/a book where you don’t have to think too much during it (though I wouldn’t count The Power in the latter category) and it’s good to know which is which!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I never count the ones on my Kindle because.. Well, the books on there are my eARC’s / author request and those are a separate category to me, haha.
I just remembered that I did type out that whole list and it’s on my blog.. *Good day to me*
I didn’t think The Power would be a mindless read but still, it being a quick one is interesting enough!

I counted my physical books just now when I was working on the next TTT and 40 was underestimating it hugely 😀 I can’t think about making a list for it, go you!
Yeah, I keep forgetting about my eARCs, they’re a whole other list!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha, I scanned them all on my Owned-TBR shelf on Goodreads. Confronting as hell but at least I have a good view of what I’m up against. :’)
Forgetting about those is baaad, haha!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I did that when I first got Goodreads but I really haven’t kept up with it to my shame 🙂 Yeah the eARCs have a special ability to make you feel guilty for not reading them!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I automatically keep up with it since it’s one of those exclusive shelves and I always scan the books I buy / get, haha.
Yup, indeed! I hate that guilty feeling. I’m getting there with the author requests though. Currently reading one that I got in October.. So ashamed that I left it for so long..

Last year I finally picked up The Book Thief and it was one of the best books I`ve read in 2017. Such a beautifully written story.

I’ve been putting off The Book Thief because I’ve been told that it’s going to destroy me emotionally, but every year I get that little bit closer to picking it up anyway. Hopefully we’ll both get around to reading it in 2018!
You can check out my Top Ten Tuesday here.

Books that destroy you emotionally are both the best and the worst at the same time, haha. I can’t help but look forward to getting destroyed sometimes because that means it’s going to have a huge impact on me!
Fingers crossed! 🙂

I’ve been dying to buy and read The Power, it sounds like such an excellent and well-written novel. I just never get the chance to do it! But I’m positive I’ll do it this year! 🙂
