Time for a READING UPDATE – WWW: July 4th

WWW Wednesday

I don’t even know how to start this post. By saying the past week has been unusual? That must be the biggest understatement ever. Life is hectic, upside down, turned around, shaken to its core and I’m here.. repeating exactly that over and over again because it’s impacting every single aspect of my life. Even my reading!
In a good way or bad way? Ha. Let’s take a look.

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter, #6)The Raging Ones (The Raging Ones, #1)

No change here. Which means…

Finished reading

That this space, where there usually are three, four or five books is EMPTY. I didn’t finish one book. I didn’t start any new books either. I simply.. barely read. I literally went from 21% in The Raging Ones to 76% and that’s it. That’s all for my reading this past week. Feels weird. So weird.

Reading next

Since I’m participating in Liza’s TBR Jar Readathon, I’m hoping to pull one of these books out of my jar. Like, after I at least finished The Raging Ones because I refuse to start anything new before finishing that one.

Alice (The Chronicles of Alice, #1)I Was Born for ThisThe Art of Being Normal

ARC overview

One Day in DecemberBrave EnoughHarshvilleThe AdultsMy Whole Truth
A Sky Painted GoldI Do Not Trust YouThe Lion Tamer Who LostTwice Dead (The Necromancer's Song, #1)

Am I the only one rocking a huge reading slump?
What do you usually do to get out of it when the cause isn’t the reading but LIFE?
How has your week been?! Enjoying the awesome weather?
[I’m melting. Just saying.]

  1. When life gets busy but I still want to get in reading, I’ll grab short stories, novellas, poetry, or graphic novels and manga. They are all things I can read quickly and then I still feel like I’m getting things accomplished when the rest of life is super hectic.

    1. You’re so right to do that. I think I only have one poetry collection left and.. one book with short stories? Maybe I should mind buying some shorter reads if I feel the need to buy books again.

    2. I find quick reads to be a good thing to have around. Of course, sometimes reading book reviews for books I want to read can help me squeeze reading time in whenever I can.

  2. I definitely know what it’s like to be stuck in a reading slump, it sucks so much. If you have like a super short book you should pick it up now because it will help you with finishing a book and then motivates you to read more! That’s what I always do 🤗🤗

    Sorry for screaming haha.
I hope that things will get a bit less hectic for you and that you will find time to read again soon! ❤ ❤

    1. I READ IT!! And my review is scheduled for like.. somewhere in August in 24 days or something – look at me scheduling things so far off?!
They’d gotten better there for a sec but it’s all messed up again, haha. I’m failing at life. 😛 ❤

    2. So NOT TRUE. I was behind on like nine reviews I had yet to edit and finish up until I just forced myself to do them. :’) And I wanted to STOP posting daily so I’m on that cliff called “six times a week” because I’m.. stupid. :’)

BESIDES. I bet your posts pull way more traffic than mine do because there’s too many of them but I can’t control myself. 😂😂

    3. I can’t even count how behind I am on my reviews, it’s not even funny anymore 😂😂 some will get lost along the way, probably, unfortunately. Poor books 😂

Whaat the what do you mean, you always write fantastic posts, Kathy!! ❤

  4. Good to know I’m not the only one in a reading slump. I blame the heat. I sit in one place for too long and it feels like my brain is melting. 😥 Best of luck for finishing up your reads!

    1. Oh, how did you end up feeling about it? I remember disliking Dimple too much when I read When Dimple Met Rishi – amongst other issues I had with the book – so I’m not really planning on picking up From Twinkle With Love myself.

  5. I finished the art of being normal recently and it’s a really fast paced read. Since I have a feeling that it’s aimed for the somewhat younger YA readers, the writing is really quick and easy.

  6. Haha I haven’t read anything too. I’m a slow reader recently. But I hope you could find time to read again soon 💕
