And we’re back to this again. Adapting the prompt to something I like more because I don’t like the proposed one. I don’t even read short stories or novellas all that often. At all. The only novella I read and loved this year is A Court of Frost and Starlight – that’s it. I like my books big, okay? So, of course, I had to change this week’s prompt to something else.
Today’s topic is supposed to be “Favorite Novellas / Short Stories” and I am ignoring that by going with “Biggest books I love” – which is kind of funny because this pretty much equals favorite biggest books in series… All these books have a page count between 659 – 870!
All covers link back to Goodreads if you feel like checking them out!
(Wow, this is a really late comment, sorry 😅)
Lol, I’m totally with ya there: the only novella I read this year was ACOFAS and I also bailed on this week’s TTT topic (I wrote about my favorite fantasy standalones)!
Love seeing ACOWAR and Empire of Storms on here! And ahhh, I still need to read Winter.
Here’s a link to my TTT from July 17th if ya wanna check it out:

I do enjoy big books, I just don’t usually have time to read them! Some of my favourites are A Conjuring of Light, Heir of Fire, Empire of Storms, A Court of Mist and Fury (gosh a lot of SJM here), Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire and The Deathly Hallows.

I like your take on this week’s topic, LOL. I ended up doing fanfiction, because most of the short stories that I read are fanfiction (and about half of my list was novel-length fanfiction, LOL).
Looking forward to continuing the Shadowhunters books, but my library is taking its sweet time making them available to me (they must only have one copy of each book, because it takes FOREVER to move up one spot on the waiting list).

*sobs* I need Kingdom of Ash toooooooo! Why do we have to wait so loooooong?!?!?
I really want to re-read the ShadowHunter books too, more specifically The Infernal Devices because JEEEEEEMMMMMM!!! And also sassy younger Magnus.

Haha, I love that you did the opposite of the prompt. I like Harry Potter and Gemina, too.

I’ve noticed that I usually read shorter books but I have read some longer books. I finally really all 3 of The Illuminae Files and my copies of those range from 599 pages to 659 pages. I’m still reading IT and it’s 1,156 pages and I want it to be over with already. Of course I loved Harry Potter when I read it.

Love your spin on this week’s prompt. Especially cause I ditched it too lol. I did celebrity autobiographies (totally random, I know), but yours must make you feel so accomplished. You can just look at that little collage and be like I’ve read 5,000+ pages in these 7 books alone!! Crazy!

I’ve read and loved all of these books except Gemina. All of them were absolutely worth the length ❤

Oooh, good picks! I think my favorite books in the past few years have tended to be mid-sized books (like 300-450 pages), but I’ve been reading more and more bigger ones lately and enjoying them!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix caused me so much rage. Hahaha. Even now, when I see one of the movies, the mere sight of Umbridge makes me seethe.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

RIGHT?! I absolutely HATE that character. I do admire the actress though. Like. It can’t be easy to sacrifice the rest of your life to being hated by every Potterhead out there even though you’re probably not as horrible as Umbridge is outside of the movies.. 😛

City of Heavenly Fire is MAMMOTH. I really liked reading War & Peace last summer, which is over 1000 pages… as is Gone with the Wind…. so many brilliant big books! 🙂

I don’t think I ever read anything above 1000 pages?! Although, if I remember correctly, IT by Stephen King is a monster like that, so maybe 2018 will be the year, haha.
I’ve never read either of those books – obviously – but I haven’t read a lot of classics in general anyway. 🙂

Ooh Gemina is definitely a favorite of mine. I loved Hanna, Nik and Elle, and the whole space station thing. Such a fun one.

Right? And because of the format, you never really mind the page amount of those books!

Oooo I luuuuuuuuv me some big books hahaha my current read is around 900!! How long do you usually take with 800+ pages?

Haha, awesome!
Honestly, it all depends on my mood and how I’m losing myself in the story? Sometimes it barely takes me three days, other times it’s a week-long battle, haha.

I’m sorry, did you say 870? Like, you actually have a book with 870 pages? I had to click on all the GR links to see which one that is 😀 >> Wait what do you mean it’s Order of the Phoenix?? I read that too, there’s no way it’s… Huh. My two copies are 750 and exactly 800. Close enough.
I do prefer reading shorter stuff, but I have some really long books on my TBR… But I very rarely read something that reaches 600 pages. My most recent favourite over 500 pages was The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, which was totally worth the page number 😀

Hahaha! Funny what different editions can do to the page count as well! I have.. two copies of that book. I should totally check the page difference of those, shouldn’t I?
Ooh, I didn’t really like Monty! But I loved Percy and Felicity so I’m still going to read the sequel anyway. 😛 I honestly love big books if the story, plot, writing AND characters are all good. That’s what makes it worth reading after. 😀

Yeah, Monty definitely has plenty of flaws, but he works on them and I like that 😀
