It’s been a crazy day / week! Yesterday I’ve been baking all day for a family birthday party today. I really haven’t had much time to read but at least I read something during the past week so…
Let’s take a look!
As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!
Harry Potter is.. Well, let’s just ignore that cover for now. I’ve made some progress in Do Not Disturb, but am not close to finishing yet. Guess it just hasn’t grabbed me in that way I want it to. Hopefully that’ll come soon! I started my second attempt at Hollow City yesterday. So far so good since I’m past the mark where I quit last time – which is definitely huge.
I only finished one book, but I did enjoy it a lot!
I need to read The Lion Tamer Who Lost next!
Ah I read Do Not Disturb and it was an okay read for me but not her best novel imo. I’m still not feeling much for A Man Called Ove but everyone seems to like it so I think I’ll have to read it just to see what everyone’s going on about ;-). Last thing I baked? Euhm bananabread (which is cake with banana) and banana ice pralines, and before that a cake with a chocolate star in it, was quite proud that worked out :-). I usually only bake something around my birthday for my colleagues.

Haven’t read anything else by Claire Douglas so far, but DND was.. okay. The main character got on my nerves too often with all the distrust and it really took away some of the enjoyment while reading.. I don’t even want to know how many times I rolled my eyes, ha.
Ooh, bananabread! I haven’t made that yet but I’ve eaten it and it’s so good. My sister-in-law always adds blueberries to it, delicious!

I share your thoughts on this one but I can highly recommend Last Seen Alive though! It’s easy to make, I think I used Piet’s recipe 😉 xxx

And I’ll need to check it out, hah!

I’ve been seeing A Man Called Ove around the bookiverse lately….. I have no idea what it’s about but everyone seems to really like it. *deep sigh* Looks like I’m just gonna have to buy some books now, I never leave Amazon with just one….
Strawberry butter cream cake sound friggin’ delicious!! Last thing I made was pizza dough yesterday, it was gooooooood! 🙂

Honestly, even when you read the blurb you still have no clue what it’s about. The first couple of chapters? No clue either! But by the end of the book you understand why and that’s what made reading A Man Called Ove so special to me. 🙂
Haha, only buying one book at a time seems impossible for me as well.
It was delicious too! Wish I had some more left but it’s all gone now. 😦
Ooooh – homemade pizza sounds SO GOOD right now!

I definitely did! Although it really is a unique read since I had no clue what it was going to be about at first – took me a while to figure it out too. 🙂

Strawberry buttercream cake sounds soooo good. We’ve been trying to cut back on sweets and baked goods lately, but Terry wasn’t feeling well yesterday so after his doctor’s visit and errands, we decided on a splurge night and I made a butter pecan cake. It’s pretty tasty!

It was delicious – even if I say so myself, haha. 😛
We’ve been cutting back as well, but since I wanted to make some gender reveal cupcakes for the family and I could hardly “steal” the entire birthday party, I also made some other baked goods. :’)
That sounds so good as well! Unhealthy food is allowed when you’re feeling down – at least once in a while. 😉
