It’s my birthday – yay me! – today, so.. I’m not really on the blog – more like.. on the other side of the country – and figured something more fun would be appropriate. Which is why I decided to do a bit weird! Just a little bit. It’s been quite a while since I last did a tag / award and.. well.. even though I don’t necessarily do them anymore – the questions kept repeating itself and it simply wasn’t any fun writing the posts? – I did feel like answering Liza’s questions!
THE RULES
- Thank blogger(s) who nominated you for the award and link back to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
- Nominated 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
- List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog
THE QUESTIONS
1. What fictional animal would you love as a companion?
The first thing that pops into my mind is a talking cat with magical fur so I’m not allergic to it. I’d love that. Have a cat to snuggle with, but still be able to talk to. And I’m always curious about what those beasties think anyway, so it’d be perfect, right?
2. What book have you recently purchased that you are the keenest for?
Ha, that has to be my pre-order of Escaping from Houdini – no doubt about that. Since finishing Hunting Prince Dracula, I really want to know what Thomas and Audrey Rose are going to go through next! Not to mention their chemistry. I’m finally feeling it and I want moremoremore.
I have to admit, though: by the time you’re reading this, I probably bought some books because.. it’s my birthday and I don’t have any reason not to? Except for that book buying ban but let’s ignore that for the day – hah!
3. What’s one item/device you wish you could own from any fictional world?
Is anyone going to say anything else than a working wand? Because I want a wand so I can do magic and make chores go poof in an instant. More reading-time, right?!
4. How do you organize your bookshelves?
Oh boy. I tried explaining that to someone a while ago but it was hard. There’s no organization whatsoever and I’m not going to change it before we’ve moved either. Basically the top two shelves of my three bookcases are all the favorites – organized on series / author / fantasy / contemporary. Underneath, there are the other books I read but don’t think of as favorites. And then we have all the books I’ve yet to read – which is a lot. Those are my 2018-books. My fourth bookcase contains all the books I bought prior 2018.
5. What do you own the most of? Paperback, Hardcovers, eBooks, audiobooks, etc.
Definitely paperbacks, although the hardcovers are slowly gaining more and more space on my shelves as well. I like the feel of those more and.. since I’m a bit privileged and can afford buying them, I do just that? My FairyLoot-subscription also helps though.
6. If you had to choose, choose one book that you want to completely forget? Whether it be to read it again for the first time or because you hate it and wish you had never read it.
Hm, forget to have a shot at a second first experience? I’d probably go with the Throne of Glass-series or Harry Potter! If it’s about a book I wish I could forget about.. Let’s go with books of authors I read that were accused of certain things. Not even naming them.
7. How long have you been blogging?
Since June 13, 2017!
8. How many bookshelves do you own?
Four bookcases and.. since we’re moving in a couple of months.. there might be coming more. I’ll have an entire library room – YAY ME.
9. Share the 1st sentence in your current read.
OH. OH. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? I actually highlighted it to use in my review:
“The air is dead with the stench of blood.
Mine.
His.”
– My Whole Truth, Mischa Thrace
10. What books have you reread?
Not a lot, that’s for sure. I’m not much of a rereading-person. This year, though, I’m rereading Harry Potter. Only got Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to go! Apart from that, I reread 180 Seconds by Jessica Park and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda!
11. Do you participate in ReadAThons? What is your favourite thing about them?
Not as much in read-a-thons anymore, but I do host my monthly reading challenges as you all know. The read-a-thons itself aren’t always.. easy since I want to stick to my own challenges more, hah. If I find one that matches my own challenge and I have the time, I do join them – albeit unofficially? I do want to do an official 24 in 48 one day though!
THE TAGS
I’m not tagging 11 people. However, I went looking for new-to-me blogs to tag because.. I felt like it?

~ Who / what inspired you to start blogging?
~ How many books do you own that you haven’t read yet?

Awww that’s so sad that you’re allergic to cats. I absolutely love my pet cat named Mau. She always meows so it’s like she talks but I would love to see a magical talking cat with no allergies because even though I have her, I’m also allergic! I really want to start the Stalking Jack the Ripper series because it’s been hyped for so long! I actually want to read it with my boyfriend soon because he got it for me. Also I would love to have a wand and I also love readathons! Those reading sprints really help me read! Love this post!

Right? I already thought it magical to reread them after years of not doing that but.. it’s still different. 🙂

Heyyaa!! Happy Birthday and Have a good one 🙂 Btw, thank you so much for tagging me. You have four bookshelves?? WOW! I’m so jealous. I wish that you can share it to us like a bookshelf tour 🙂 I also want to have a working wand :3

Thank you! And you’re very welcome. 🙂
Haha, I do! I’ll be happy when we’ve moved because our living room is way too small for all those shelves! Once the move’s over and done with, I might just do that bookshelf tour but right now.. I’m already slowly packing them up so it’s not really an option, haha.
That working wand is the eternal magical dream. ❤

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you’re having a fantastic day, I’m sending you all the love and hugs and cake!! ❤ ❤
I loved your answers here and wow, that first sentence is REALLY intriguing. I also approve VERY MUCH about that re-read of 180 seconds, I can't wait to re-read it someday and get my heart broken all over again hahaha 🙂

I did have a fantastic day! 😀 Even had some cake – although it was a regular apple one, it was still so yum, haha.
Right? That first sentence got me hooked. Finished the thing in no time too!
Just know that you’ll definitely be as broken as the first time! I had the small hope it would be a tad better but NOPE. Still one crying mess afterwards, haha.

Apple cake is GREAT ahh you’re making me hungry haha 😀
Well…. I’ll be ready, whenever I’ll reread it haha 🙂

Haha! I brought a whole load of fruit to work today – instead of my usual cupcakes – to celebrate my birthday. I’m hoping there’ll be apples left to make a cake tonight. We’ll see!

YES YES! I hope there are apples left. CAKE IS IMPORTANT 😛

PLENTY of apples left; just no energy left to actually make the cake. Tonight hopefully. Fingers crossed ~~

Magic cat with magic fur sounds awesome! I kinda imagine it won’t shed either and not all my clothes would be covered in cat hair, like it is now 😀

Definitely that too! It drives me nuts whenever I’ve been at my mom’s to find my pants all.. white and grey instead of the usual black, haha.

Kathy!! You need to do more tags because this was so fun to read. Happy birthday first of all ~~~ I think your greatest gift may be that book room in your new place. Colour me jealous 😍😍
A magical talking cat would have to be the best thing ever… except I know how often I turn to see my cat throwing me death glares or just waiting to look cute so I give him treats SO I think him talking would consist of “wow you’re annoying too bad you’re not a cat huh?” and also “feed me time put those thumbs to good use.”
Haha thanks for sharing your answers!!

Aaawh, thank you! 😀
Haha, that definitely is one of the biggest gifts. Who thought I’d actually get to make that dream come true?! Not me, that’s for sure!
Hahaha, this made me laugh so hard! On the other hand, you’d be able to make awesome comebacks in no time. Once you’re boss of the remarks, it can still be fun? I think?

But dreams do come true! Do you already have a bunch of plans mapped out?
Hmm, perhaps? I would have to be on my toes all the time haha. As long as I can still give him cuddles I don’t think it would be too terrible 😀

Not yet. Right now I’m more focused on wrapping all my babies up safe and secure in boxes so they don’t get damaged, haha. The moment I won’t be physically able to pack anymore, the plans will definitely get mapped out!
At least there’d still be some benefits to it! If the cat wouldn’t want you to touch them at ALL, you’d be in for.. well.. not a lot of fun. 😂

Right, smart course of action. The last thing you want is to arrive at a new place with a great book space … and damaged books 😯
Haha nope, that would be for sure!

I’m the same with read-a-thons. I’ll generally only participate if the challenges are attractive to me at the time or work with books that I was already planning to read. Read-a-thons are fun if you need incentive to catch up on a lot of reading, but otherwise I’m not really in a rush to read anymore 🙂

Exactly! With my own challenges, I’m always in the mindset to read books that fit my own challenge. If I have to take on another readathon or challenge that doesn’t fit those books at all, I’m simply not that interested or motivated to participate.
I do like the 24 in 48 readathons though – although they mostly don’t fit my schedule at all, hah.

It IS the dream. At first it was a whole discussion since my boyfriend has his own drum and needs space for that as well, but the house we found has enough rooms so we can BOTH have our own space which is just.. Perfect. 😀
Hahaha, don’t we all!
