TTT – AUTUMN ~ Goals, bucket list and TBR

Autumn Goals

Remember way back when, when I said I want to focus on more things than reading and… then I came up with a whole Summer-related post? Well, I quite failed at it – which you’ll find out once Summer is officially over – and want to do it again! Hopefully minus the failing this time?

With Autumn creeping nearer, it’s definitely time to take a look at everything season-related and let those creative juices flow. As far as I have creative juices that is.. Just imagine me googling pretty much anything I can think of.

As I did last time, I’m using this post as my TTT since it includes the books on my Autumn TBR – and let that just be today’s subject! I’m only allowed to work on all these goals from September 24th to December 21st, so I can’t start on them just yet. That doesn’t mean I’m not sharing them – and trying to get myself motivated for them at the same time, ha.

Finding out about my pregnancy, I had to neglect some of last season’s goals so.. I made sure to take into account being pregnant and having a move to plan. It’ll eat up plenty of my time so I’m not going to over-challenge myself. Or.. try not to?

Season Goals

º Post on Instagram once or twice a week.
° Figure out a new theme on Instagram.
º Read 25 books.
° Start my reread of the Game of Thrones-books.
º Try and tackle at least 15 books of my pre-2018 TBR.

Personal / health – related

° Drink all the water every day.
° Eat at least two different kinds of fruit every week.
° Try out some new dishes / foods.
° Relax for at least one hour every week with a book and candles.

Bucket List

º Bubble bath!
º Walk through fallen leaves in a forest.
º Eat or drink something with pumpkin.
º Make an apple crumble.
º Go swimming at least once.
° Get started on buying Christmas presents. (or at least make a list..)
° Watch five DVD’s.
º Start packing in October. (not November or December!)

Autumn TBR

As last time, I’m taking into account the next couple of monthly reading challenges to set up this TBR. Let’s see how my reading is supposed to look! And realize, already, how I’m still going to fail. Doh.

Under the Eye of the Clock: The Life Story of Christopher NolanThe Art of Baking BlindThe Book Thief
The Rosemary SpellItA Thousand Beginnings and EndingsGirls of Paper and Fire

What are some things you want to do this Autmn / Fall? Or Spring?
Reading goals, other goals, bucket list?
Tell me all about it; maybe I’ll even add to my own!
What’s your favorite thing to eat / drink that has pumpkin in it?

    1. Sounds like some good goals! I love trying out new dishes, hah. Also gives me an excuse to go to different grocery stores if we want to make something from another culture.
Hope you get that new flooring soon!

  1. Honestly the best part about Fall is literally everything. It has a great setting, nature is so beautiful, plus it’s pumpkin time and my mom has already made pumpkin soup twice and she recently made pumpkin spice bread, it’s like banana bread just with pumpkins, it’s so good! Good luck with your goals and your pregnancy! 🤗🤗

    1. True! Oooh, that sounds delicious! I found a recipe for pumpkin and sweet potato soup yesterday and I’m going to convince my boyfriend to make it, haha. 😀 Need to put “look up pumpkin recipes” on my to do list, for sure..
      Thank you, Maxi! ❤

Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland.

  3. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love your plans for the fall; I want to start being more intentional about what I do each season. Eating two different fruits each week sounds like a fun goal, and I also want to read Girls of Paper and Fire!

    1. You’re welcome!
If you want to do that, you just should! I’ve noticed posting about my goals and bucket list, keeps me more accountable and gives me some extra motivation to try and tick some off. 🙂
I started Girls of Paper and Fire yesterday and so far I’m loving it! The writing is gorgeous – all the descriptions. ❤ Hopefully the entire book is as good, hah. 🙂

  4. Pregnant AND moving?!? What a super mama you are!!! Serious props for being able to juggle it all (and yes, planning to juggle totally counts!). Your lists of everything look amazing, and I hope you find the time to fit it all in (but don’t stress out if you can’t — taking care of YOU and your little one is the most important part!) XOXO

    1. Hahaha. Right now it all feels doable, but I’m sure I’ll change my mind about that soon enough!
Thank you! ❤ I'm definitely putting myself and the little one first, no doubt about that but I'm hoping to do at least some of the things I want to this Fall. I can only try.
      Thank you so much! ❤

  5. I LOVE The Book Thief. I love it so much I can’t even talk about it. And A Thousand Beginnings and Endings was so good. Great collection of short stories there.

I’m excited to read Girls of Paper and Fire, too!

  6. Girls of Paper and Fire are on a lot of TBRs! I hope you love it Kathy! I’m a new follower (bloglovin!). Congrats on your pregnancy!!

After looking at your goals, I really want to eat an apple crumble, haha! I’m in university and eat at the dining hall though, so who knows if I’ll actually get to it! As for my favorite thing to eat with pumpkin in it, I’ve got to go with a classic – pumpkin bread. If moist, it’s SO good!

Best of luck to your goals and TBRs!

    1. Right?! I was so surprised to see it in so many posts. Makes me more eager to pick it up sooner rather than later, haha.
Oooh, awesome! 😀 Welcome to my blog! And thank you! 😀

I’ll keep my fingers crossed the dining hall will provide you with all the crumble you need. ❤ I've never made it before so I'm curious to see how it turns out, haha. Hm, pumpkin bread sound intriguing.. I'm starting to think I'll splurge on anything with pumpkin in it just to find out what things I like and which ones I don't, haha.

      Thank you!! ❤

  7. This seems like a good list to tackle for the season. I especially love “start Christmas shopping” because that’s a goal I wish I could accomplish! I always start too late😀

    1. Right? I feel like these bucket lists / goals really do help me keep on track with things I want and need to do, hah.
I tend to have the same issue every year as well. Fingers crossed this year will be different. 🙂

  8. Good luck with your goals! I keep meaning to re-read Game of Thrones as well. I’m reading an interesting book of essays about the series at the moment (‘Beyond the Wall’ by James Lowder) which you might enjoy.

    1. Thank you!
I read them years ago in Dutch but barely remember a thing. Don’t even watch the show because I know they don’t match the books pace-wise so.. yeah.. I really need to get started on it, hah.
Ooh, I’m going to check that out -thanks!

  9. Ooooo, I’ve been seeing Girls of Paper and Fire around a lot lately! I hope you like it! Then maybe I can convince my TBR that I need it! XD
YES TO WALKING IN FALLEN LEAVES IN A FOREST!! It’s pretty much a life goal of mine! If I ever get to do it, I just… reset the goal again. I friggin’ love forests. I want to live in one, the reading ambience would be amazing!
Good Luck to you! I hope you fulfil all your goals!!
    Happy Reading!! 😀

    1. It’s EVERYWHERE in TTT’s! I didn’t really see that coming, to be honest. It only proves I really need to pick it up soon, haha! I’ve heard amazing things about it already though!

RIGHT? I know my boyfriend gets annoyed with me whenever we go walking in autumn because I’m.. like.. a little kid who keeps kicking up the leaves and all, HAHA. This time’ll be no different – pregnancy or not. I’ll always be a child at heart. xD

      Thank you!! You too! ❤

  10. That’s a hefty list of goals- you can do it! My favorite pumpkin food is actually a yogurt by Noosa. It’s a Greek-like yogurt with pumpkin on the bottom you can mix in. It tastes like pumpkin cheesecake and it is to die for! And your fall TBR looks like a healthy mixture. I am always trying to diversify my reading but tend to fall into a genre trap. Last year was fantasy, this year it’s been sci-fi.

    1. Hefty list, but I do have three months so.. there’s that, haha!
I don’t think we have that over here. I should check the stores, but I’m fairly certain I’ve never seen anything Noosa or yogurt with pumpkin for that matter.
Thank you! I always try switching things up because I know I can be a straight-out moodreader at times so having different genres on the TBR helps tons. 🙂

  11. I need to be more active on instagram too! It’s something I need to work on because I go in an out of posting. A schedule of once or twice a week is a great idea! Good luck with all your goals & bucket list! I really want to read Girls of Paper and Fire & The Rosemary Spell too! I hope you love the books you read this season 🙂 Thanks for checking out my post!

    1. I’m the same! I can keep it up for two weeks daily at most and then it goes down the drain and I don’t post anything for weeks – sometimes even months! I really need to find something that works for me so this is the first step to just that. 🙂
Hope you get to read those as well!
Thank you!! And you’re welcome. 🙂

  13. The end of summer always makes me sad, so I like reading about what you (and others) are looking forward to this fall. It improves my attitude. I went on a fall hike last weekend and hope to do so again. I am also hoping to pick the apples on our tree and make a cobbler or crisp.

  14. Oh, I loved The Book Thief and It, so I hope you enjoy them too (or at least have the time to read them).

I don’t really make plans because then words like premeditated get thrown around and I’m not about that life (and I just really stink at planning things in general).

I really like pumpkin cranberry bread, the two flavors go really well together and basically scream fall. But I’m also straight up basic white chick and drink all the pumpkin spice lattes while they’re available.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. IT shouldn’t be a problem since I’m hosting a readalong with a fellow blogger. No excuse not to read it that way, haha. Fingers crossed for The Book Thief though – I’ve no clue how many times I put it on a TBR already..

Haha! Being impulsive isn’t a bad thing either! I plan things, but I also like having the freedom to do whatever I feel like doing. 🙂

I’ve never made bread in my life. Maybe I should.. try it out.. Maybe. I’ve never had a pumpkin spice latte so I guess that’s one thing I should put on my “to do”-list, haha.

  15. Nice list! You have some nice goals for Autumn. Autumn is my favorite season as well. I really enjoy baking in Autumn, especially with apples (pie and bread). I also make a sweet potato pie at Thanksgiving, which I think I’ve come to like even more than pumpkin! On your tbr, I think A Thousand Beginnings and Endings sounds interesting. That was my thought as well. The boyfriend wanted strawberry crumble but I quickly changed it to apples, haha. It’s just more.. Autumn! Oh, sweet potato pie doesn’t sound to bad either. The only way we ever eat those is oven baked fries and that’s it!

      Thanks for stopping by! ❤

Good luck with your goals, too. These all seem like achievable ones as well, which helps. The Book Thief and It are great books, I hope you enjoy.

    1. Thank you! Haha, my boyfriend and I were quite the handful as well so.. we’re half-expecting our kid to be equally as bad or worse. 😂

Thank you. 🙂 I try to keep it achievable or I’d give up on them in no time, which is not the point at all.
It is scaring me already because of its size and the clown, but we’ll see!

      Thanks, Aymee! ❤

Same here! I really don’t get how they do it. Let alone how they have the inspiration to post all different things for so long periods of time. I just can’t. :’) I’ve tried using an app for it once but even that failed so.. I don’t know. Maybe Instagram isn’t my thing but I’m not ready to give up on it yet!

Happy fall season to you ❤

  19. Crush those goals, Kathy! Making an apple crumble does sound lovely! The Book Thief is one of my favourite reads. I really hope you’ll come to love it! I have a e-ARC of Girls of Paper and Fire. I’m really excited to get into ^^ Take care of yourself!

The apple crumble was my boyfriend’s idea, haha. Although he wanted a strawberry one first but.. apple crumble sounds more yum to me.

I’m hoping to get started on Girls of Paper and Fire this weekend!

      You too ❤

  20. Your plans for fall are so well thought out and sound very doable. I struggle with the water drinking–even when it’s all I drink. I forget to drink! Definitely take care of you!

I loved The Book Thief and hope you will too.

    Have a great fall season!

  21. Good luck on your list this season!

I think I do fairly well with the water thing. It helps that I almost drink water and tea exclusively. And tea is made with water, and leaves, so that counts, right? I brew my tea by the gallon, LOL.

We don’t have any seasonal TBR books yet, but I may read A Thousand Beginnings and Endings at some point. These Top Ten Tuesday posts have gotten me to read more short stories.

    1. Thank you!!

Definitely counts! Unfortunately, I’m not a big tea fan unless it’s very fruity and sugary.. Which makes the whole water-concept go poof since it’s definitely not thàt healthy anymore, haha.

I’m not usually one to read short stories but I’ve heard great things about A Thousand Beginnings and Endings which made me curious. Hopefully we’ll all love it! 🙂

  22. Drinking more water is a very good goal. I struggle with doing that, too, and have had luck with liking it more when I drink it very cold. Not sure if you’ll feel the same way, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Good luck with your upcoming medical tests. I hope you get good news about your pregnancy from them.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by earlier today.

    1. Then I hope you get to do all the things, haha! 😀 I’ve never tried a lot of pumpkin-flavored things. Which is why I really want to do that this fall.

I struggle with drinking water too. Can’t stand the taste. Usually result to fruit teas, but even that isn’t going that great.

    Swimming is great ❤

Autumn walk in a forest sounds awesome! Would love to do that too.

    1. Thank you!

Same. Some people always go with “but it doesn’t HAVE any taste!” and they’re so wrong about that. :’) I don’t like tea that much either, so that’s no help, really. I’ve gone to adding some syrup to my water but even that’s something I’m tiring up pretty quickly.. I need to drink plenty of water though so I’m just.. forcing myself. :’)

It is! It’s been way too long since I went swimming and I really want to!

Right? I’m going to wait until there’s no more leaves on the trees left before I drag my boyfriend with me though. I want all the fall-vibes!

    2. Ah, dunno if you like cucumber, but another trick i sometimes do is have a bottle of water and put lime and cucumber slices in it and some mint, and basically convince myself it’s mojito 😀

  25. I can relate the the water thing, I never seem to drink enough water. My daily fluid in take consists of decaf tea! Good luck with your goals and I hope the pregnancy goes well. I’ve got 8 weeks till my second arrives so I know how easily one can get distracted from reading 😊

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I wish I was a fan of tea, but I’m not! It’s the eternal struggle right now since I don’t like the “taste” of water, don’t like tea and.. well.. you have to drink plenty of water while you’re pregnant. Ugh.
It’s okay. There’s a lot going on since I had toxoplasmosis at the start of my pregnancy so we won’t know whether everything’s okay with the kid until after the amniocentesis results. I’m almost 19 weeks along now, so right now I still have plenty of reading time. [Mostly because we’re not buying anything for the kid yet since.. well.. we’re scared the results will be bad and we won’t be able to look at the stuff then..]

    1. Thank you!
It’s really creeping by now, but that’s more because we’re waiting for the
amniocentesis and then the results before we know for sure whether everything is okay due to the toxoplasmosis I had at the start of my pregnancy. Reckon time will fly by once we’re sure everything’s fine with the kid. 🙂
