DNF’ing the fifth book since starting my blog – WWW: November 28th

WWW Wednesday

It doesn’t happen all that often since it’s only the fifth time I’m deciding to consciously DNF a book but today is the day. Literally this morning, I decided I was going to add a fifth to the bunch. Three quotes in a very short piece of text annoyed me, a lot. I will definitely be sharing a sort of review on this book since.. well.. I feel like it, even though I usually don’t review books I DNF’d.
On another note, I’m tired. So, so tired. It’s pretty much the start of my third trimester and it feels like this baby is sucking all the energy out of me. Not to mention how I keep waking up at 1 am, 2 am and feel wide awake. Falling asleep afterwards? I try but it rarely works. Especially with the boyfriend having the early shift, waking up at 3.30 and me then feeling as if I should get up as well? This is going to be a tiring couple of months, I bet.. But we will survive! At least I have books, hah. Oh, and I restarted Pokémon Moon yesterday. So.. That might put a bit of a downer on my reading the next couple of weeks but whatever, right?

Anyway, let’s see what I did finish!

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

The Girl King

I CLEARED MY CURRENT READS, GUYS! Like – I DID IT! No doubt about it; I’m ridiculously proud of myself. I do need to pick up a second read, though. Since DNF’ing that one book, I’m feeling a bit lost Kindle-wise so I’ll be starting another ARC later today probably.

Finished reading

Protecting Our Virgin (Our Virgin #1)The Book ThiefHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7)
The Art of Baking BlindThe Evolution of Jeremy WarshGretel: A Fairytale RetoldOliver and Erica: When Friends become Lovers

Look at all those books! I still have to write and / or finish some reviews, but you can bet they’re all coming your way. Except for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows because I’m never giving that less than five stars and will always love those books – so what’s the point?
I also put the book I DNF’d – Oliver and Erica – in this section because.. well.. I am finished with it – albeit in another way. Definitely posting something about it tomorrow so.. if you want to know why I don’t want to invest any more reading time in that novel, keep an eye out for that!

Reading next

Rock Rebel (Nothing But Trouble #3)

As I said, I’ll probably be starting another ARC later today. Looking at the one that’s releasing soonest, that might just be Rock Rebel by Tara Leigh! Or I’ll end up picking something else entirely.. Who knows, haha. I do know that on Saturday, Diverse December is starting so..

ARC overview

Imber (Thanatos Trilogy #1)The Gilded Wolves (The Gilded Wolves, #1)A Pack of Blood and LiesWitchcraft and Monsters
All the Lonely PeopleRock Rebel (Nothing But Trouble #3)LovestruckTell Me a Secret

I don’t even want to explain the way this blew up all of a sudden.. I did not mean for that to happen but somehow it did? I was so proud of getting my NetGalley reads down and down and then.. it went up and up. Let’s just hope I can get on top of them again, somehow?

What book are you picking as your final November read? And which one will you be kicking off December with?
Any other books you’re really eager to pick up next month?

If you have a WWW-post of your own, feel free to leave it in the comments!

  1. I’m sorry to hear how tired you’ve been feeling, I hope you’ll feel better soon and can take some time to rest every now and then, even if you can’t fall asleep!
Congrats on cleaning your currently reading shelf haha you’re doing great! and all of the ARCs to read! I’m SO curious about All The Lonely People, it sounds really good, can’t wait to hear what you think of it 🙂

    1. I hope so as well. I’m back on taking extra vitamins so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that’ll boost my mental health a bit before I truly come crashing down or something. :’)
Haha, thank you! I’m honestly mad at myself for those ARC’s since I was doing so well on clearing them but oh well. 😛 Sometimes it can’t be helped and.. in a way it’s better to get too many ARC’s than end up on a book buying spree? [Still resisting temptation for that one last big splurge though..]

    2. I’ll keep my fingers crossed as well and send you tons of positive vibes ❤❤
Hahaha well sometimes you can’t help it I guess and… at least you have books to read, it feels good to have books to read, it’s reassuring, in a way, I get that 😛

  2. Eh, 5 DNF is no big deal. I probably did like 3 last month just because I was trying to read books off my TBR. It’s not worth reading books you’re not into. Reading is supposed to be fun, so I applaud your willingness to DNF!

  3. Congrats on clearing your current reads! And I rarely DNF a book, but sometimes you have to.

Also, the last couple months are always the most tiring, but it gets better. YOU ARE SO CLOSE NOW!

    1. I totally hear you on the holidays. My girls were born in January and February and trying to deal with Christmas and being that far along… it was rough. You will get through, just warn the ones you love that you might get a little nutty. 🙂

    2. I’ve been warning them non-stop ever since I knew about my pregnancy, haha. I’ve already gone as far as saying no to certain family events because I know I won’t be able to cope with too many people at once – the disadvantage of a waaaay too huge family..

  4. I just hate DNFing books, but sometimes you really don’t have a choice. I almost did that with the book I just finished, but I decided to push through and I actually ended up enjoying it! Weird. Oh well, hope you feel better! I remember in my third trimester I could not stop eating, I was so hungry all the time!!

    1. Exactly. Usually I push through as well, but there were three quotes in a way too short time span that I felt so iffy about and I just.. couldn’t anymore. :’)
Oh boy, haha. That’s not an issue so far but the tiredness.. I slept a whopping five hours last night and that’s pretty much my record when I look at the past two weeks. :’)
