Diverse December

It’s almost the end of the year – like, can you imagine?! I know a lot of people will be saying the exact same thing this month, but I can’t help but feel the same way. 2018 flew by in the blink of an eye! So many things changed for me, both personally and professionally.. And.. Well.. 2019 isn’t going to be any different, it seems!

But, you’re not here for that. Nope! You’re here to see what I plan on reading this final month of the year, so let’s get right into it! As you might, or might not, know I’m dedicating December to all the diverse reads. I had to do some research since I don’t always know for sure whether a book counts as diverse or not, but.. I managed!ย Even better: I managed to pick books I didn’t accidentally pack already, haha.

Diverse books I’d like to read!

The Upside of UnrequitedA Tragic Kind of WonderfulDaughter of the Burning CityThe Start of Me and You
The Miseducation of Cameron PostNevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1)A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1)The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things
The Memory BookWicked Like a Wildfire (Hibiscus Daughter, #1)The Library of FatesThe Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic (Grisha Verse, #0.5, #2.5, #2.6)

Ahm.. Is it me or is there a whole lot of purple all of a sudden?!
Anyway! Some of these are also pretty short since I’m hosting the first ever Short-a-thon together with Destiny. Be sure to check out that post if you feel like reading some short books at the end of the year!

Other books thatย might tempt me

A Thousand Beginnings and EndingsWildcard (Warcross #2)Escaping from Houdini (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #3)Ace of Shades (The Shadow Game, #1)Lifel1k3 (Lifelike, #1)

I am shamelessly putting the same books here as I did for my October TBR because I really want to read these and.. I’m hoping I actually will find some time to do so?

My ARC-overview

Imber (Thanatos Trilogy #1)The Gilded Wolves (The Gilded Wolves, #1)A Pack of Blood and LiesWitchcraft and Monsters
All the Lonely PeopleRock Rebel (Nothing But Trouble #3)LovestruckTell Me a SecretAnd We Call It Love

These are the ARC’s I currently have yet to read. Only two are the same compared to the start of November so I’m actually convinced I did good? Sure, they’ve exploded a bit – again – but at least there’s only two still stuck on there. I already startedย Rock Rebel so, there’s that as well!ย I really should make a priority of Imber though. That one’s been on this list for ages..

Are you planning on reading some diverse books in December?
Are you joining our Short-a-thon at the end of the year?
What books are you looking forward to reading?
Any new releases you’re definitely picking up before the year’s over?

  1. This is a great TBR! I look forward to hearing what you think of ADSOM, I really love that series! I’m also curious about The Library of Fates, I haven’t read that one, but there are so many mixed reviews out there.
    Happy reading!! ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Thank you!
Haha, I think the reason I’ve been putting off The Library of Fates is because of those reviews. :’) Put I need to hoist my butt over those and find out for myself how I feel about it. Hopefully I’ll succeed at doing that. ๐Ÿ˜›
      Thank you! โค

  2. Wooo, good luck with your TBR! I don’t think I’ve really read any of these, but I’m curious what you’ll think.

I’m definitely joining Short-A-Thon! Might even start it early if I manage to finish my ARCs. I don’t think I’ll really concentrate on diverse books since I read many of those anyway, but I might mark them in my wrap-up…

    1. Thank you!

Awesome! I have way too many other books to read so starting early isn’t really an option. Although there are some shorter books but.. I have to read them way sooner than when the readathon itself starts, haha.
Ooh, yes! That way you also see how many diverse books you actually read. Always fun to see something like that. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I would love to get to L1FELIK3 as well, and I’m using December mostly as a catch up month. I usually read diversely even when I’m not trying, so I’m sure some of my December reads will fall in that category ๐Ÿ˜

    1. Haha, same here. I can’t not read any diverse books for an entire month, but it was fun to see what books actually ARE diverse? There are way more on my TBR than I actually thought there were, haha. ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. Thank you!
Well, you have uni on your plate as well right now, but I do hope things settle a bit so you can focus on more relaxing stuff too! ๐Ÿ™‚
Haha, I love it as well but it’s kind of freaky how that happened. xD

    1. Aaah, that’s so good to know! I’ve been on a contemporary spree lately so I might just pick it up sooner rather than later this month. ๐Ÿ˜€
I’ve heard about the slow start of Nevernight! Happy I’m warned too because I might’ve given up on it otherwise, but I’m definitely going to pull through since I knew in advance. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Daughter of the Burning City is such a unique story and I adored the world building. Language of Thorns was such an amazing read. Good luck with your TBR!
