READING UPDATE TIME! – WWW: March 13th

WWW Wednesday

The struggle is real! I miss my blog and the bookish community, but I have barely been able to do something about it. Until yesterday, that is! We managed to make sure I get to do blog prep when the baby’s asleep without me having to leave the little one behind. He truly notices the moment I’m not right next to him, haha.
This basically means I’ll.. hopefully be somewhat back on the blog and on social media from now on! I’m not saying it’ll solve my “not reading”-issue, but at least it’s one thing solved for now, hah.

Anyway, let’s see what I.. didn’t read these past two weeks!

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

When The Tik-Tik SingsThe Prep and the Punk (The Boys Only #1)

I started When the Tik-Tik Sings in honor of Monstrous March but.. I’m really not liking it all that much? I’m not even twenty pages in though, so hopefully that changes. The thing that annoys me is how the writing is way too detailed and there are.. a lot of terms used that I’m not familiar with. The combination of English not being my first language and not having any connection to firefighters / police terms definitely isn’t helping..
As for The Prep and the Punk – I wanted something light and.. you can’t say queer smut isn’t light reading? Although I do have some issues with this one as well but let’s just ignore that little fact.

Finished reading

LovestruckInternment

And I finished these two! Admittedly, I didn’t have all that much left to read in either of them and they were pretty good books to read a small amount of pages in between baby-time but.. at least I finished two books, right?! Still happy about that!

Reading next

I’m leaving this blank because I don’t know – I really don’t! My life revolves around our little wiggle right now and I want to see where my mood’s at once I finish my current reads before I decide what to read next. Although I admit.. I should definitely take a look at the ARC’s that need reviews soon..

ARC overview

A Pack of Blood and LiesAnd We Call It LoveFix Her UpOnce & Future (Once & Future, #1)

No new additions, yay! It helps that I can’t request the releases I want to. Hate that wish-button. Hate.

How have you all been? Did I miss anything?
Share all the things with me! I’d love to read about them!

If you have a WWW-post of your own, feel free to leave it in the comments!

  1. KATHY ❤ I'm glad to see you blogging a little bit and that you manage to read, too, I can't imagine how exhausting it can be at times. I hope everything's going well, sending good vibes and love to everyone! ❤ ❤
I hope you liked Internment, I've heard so many good things about that one. Happy reading, love! Take care ❤ ❤

    1. Awh! Same, though! It’s so weird not being present on my blog as much as I was before, but I’m stoked to be able to at least be at it for a bit now! Thank you! ❤
I did like it! The only "issue" I had with it is the lack of depth when it came to the MC's relationships / friendships since the focus was very much on fighting oppression. Which makes sense, but it made some things feel flat to me, if you know what I mean? Apart from that it's SO worth the read though!
You take care too, Marie ❤

    2. Oh I can understand that, it always feels a bit frustrating when the characters’ relationships don’t feel too three dimensional :/ I’m glad you enjoyed it though!! ❤

  2. I’m so happy to see that you’re figuring things out. It will probably take time but you’ll get through it. Like me with school and figuring things out with school, reading and blogging. It can be hard to find the balance.

  3. So happy to see that you guys are starting to get things figured out. And it’s crazy, they really do know the minute you walk away!

If it helps any, English is my first language and I watch a ton of police shows and yet… the terminology is so varied sometimes that I can’t even keep up. Hahaha.

    1. We’re trying our best. The one thing we still haven’t figured out is how to combine a baby with cleaning. It’s a mess over here and that probably won’t change any time soon, oops.

Definitely makes me feel somewhat better but it sucks when it happens with a book. It’s harder to push on and continue reading than when it’s a movie / tv show, in my opinion, haha.

    2. When he gets a little older, you can put him in one of those baby carrier things and do your housework with him tucked against you. I was lucky – both my girls would sleep through anything. But you’re right – it’ll be a mess for a few years. The type of mess is the only thing that will change. 🙂

I totally get that though. I struggle with the Tempe Brennan books set in Quebec, Canada simply because there is so much French being thrown around. You’re right though – a lot of things in a TV show can be explained through action or visual clues. You don’t get that with a book!

    3. We’re planning on doing that! We already have a carrier like that. People tell us we can already use it fine but I feel like he’s still a bit too small to put him into something like that. :’)
Oh well. We’re used to living in a mess. It’s just a bit frustrating, at times, that we can’t even get our things cleaned up when people are coming over, haha. We’ll manage!

Oh yikes. French would bother me a bit less, I think, since I did get French in school for over seven years but.. yeah. I’d still get frustrated over it. True! Visuals can solve so much when you have questions or don’t get things!

    4. I know I put my older girl in one and she couldn’t even see, so I took her out. I’m sure it’s safe, but it seemed mean to me at the time. LOL

That’s the beauty of kids though. “Sorry, the place is a mess, but the baby…” But most people likely understand. 🙂

    5. Since he still sleeps so much, we tried putting him in there once he’s in a deep sleep. Has worked a couple of times so far – although he does wake up sooner when he’s in the carrier but that’s something we’ll gladly take since it does mean we get some chores done in that short time, haha. Once he’s awake, there’s no keeping him in there. He likes his freedom of movement waaay too much!

Haha, true! They understand, but I still get annoyed by it myself. Probably because I’m the one sitting in the mess all day, every day. 😛
