I’ve been trying to get this post out since March started and it’s finally happening! Thing is, I can’t even “blame” being a mom this time because it was simply me and having to finish some reviews before I felt comfortable posting this wrap-up? Stupid brain of mine, indeed.
I read quite a bit in February, but you can all guess pretty much all that reading happened before Jamie was born, haha. I didn’t quite read all that much afterwards – which makes sense! I also did quite well haul-wise?
So, let’s take a look and see whether or not you agree!
As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page!
The star-ratings link back to my reviews if I’ve posted them or added one on Goodreads!
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer ~ ★★★★★
The Wicked King #2 by Holly Black ~ ★★★★★ [I’m still not able to write a coherent review.]
The Crimes of Grindelwald #2 by J.K. Rowling ~ ★★★★
Consort of Pain #3 by Eva Chase ~ ★★★★★
Consort of Fire #4 by Eva Chase ~ ★★★★★
I read five fantasy novels, which I’m so proud of! I ended up not writing a review for The Wicked King and I’m blaming Holly Black for it, okay. I wasn’t able to write down anything decent and am still not able to? I can try, but I genuinely feel I wouldn’t do the book justice if I wrote it with a fuzzy mind and bad recollection of my initial thoughts. Not to mention how my notes were on my old phone, which has died an unfortunate death. I might have to schedule a reread to then write that review, maybe.
OTHER BOOKS ON MY OWNED TBR I READ
Escaping from Houdini #3 by Kerri Maniscalco ~ ★★★★
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang ~ ★★★★
P.S. I Still Love You #2 by Jenny Han ~ ★★★★☆
ARC’S I READ
New Starts and Cherry Tarts at the Cosy Kettle by Liz Eeles ~ ★★★★
Lovestruck by Kate Watson ~ ★★★
I read two ARC’s! One I loved more than the other, but overall enjoyed them both so that’s what counts.
KINDLE BOOKS I READ
Seduction Games by Allyson Lindt ~ ★★★★
My Kinda Kisses by Lacey Black ~ ★★★★★
Looks like I had some smut craving in February at some point.. Although two isn’t all that bad, huh? Haha. In any case, my ratings link back to the reviews should you be interested! Note: Seduction games has threesomes with two male, queer characters.

Look at that! I’m actually proud of myself, hah. I set myself some book buying rules, so my hauls should be fairly.. small from now on. Fingers crossed, right?
I honestly thought I’d read more in the two weeks before giving birth, but I’d say 12 is still amazing! I was a bit too preoccupied with getting other things in order. Most pregnant women sit on their butt because they can’t really do anything else but I was still able to do so much – which was weird for a lot of the people in my life – and I took full advantage of that, haha.
I’m curious to see what my March wrap-up will look like though.. I haven’t been reading much at all!
You still managed to read quite a lot ^^ and well done on you not buying so many books 😛 The Prince and the Dressmaker is such a cute story, isn’t it!

I did then. Now? Not so much, haha! The buying books is.. hard. Or should I say the NOT buying books. 😛 It’s so tempting to just order a bunch of books.. But I cannot.
Definitely is a cute story! Didn’t really know what to expect since I rarely read graphic novels but I was very pleasantly surprised!

I’m glad you finally read Escaping from Houdini. How did you like it? I want to read A Curse So Dark and Lonely really bad.

I liked it, but I have to say.. Hunting Prince Dracula is still easily my favorite of the bunch. 🙂 Looking forward to the fourth book though.
A Curse So Dark and Lonely IS AMAZING. I hope you get to read it soon!

Yes I totally Agree Hunting Prince Dracula is my favorite too. Escaping from Houdini is my least favorite of the three but I did still enjoy it. I hope I can get a copy soon. Hubby started work yesterday so I’m hopeful I can get it in the next couple of months.

I can’t really say whether Escaping from Houdini or Stalking Jack the Ripper is my least favorite. I didn’t really feel the chemistry in the first book, but I did enjoy it. Maybe if I reread them one day, I can make up my mind.
Oh, that’s awesome! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Best of luck to your husband!

I hated the love triangle aspect in Escaping from Houdini that’s why it’s my least favorite. Thank you!!

I can definitely understand that. There were times when that triangle simply didn’t make any sense to me.

I am fully attached to Audrey Rose and Thomas especially Thomas so I don’t like that dynamic being messed with at all 😂

Haha, I can imagine! Once you ship two characters together, nobody should come between them!

Considering your rating average for those twelve books is over 4 stars I think that is more than impressive. Do you even know what a bad book is?

Oooh I do, trust me. I guess being at the end of my pregnancy did make me VERY picky when it came to the books I read though. I refused to read anything I wasn’t entirely feeling so.. that helped? 😛

12 books is still AMAZING, Kathy!! And I’m glad you were able to still do so much during the first half of this month. I haven’t managed to write a coherent review for the Wicked King either. I can’t seem to write much more than, “This book is beautiful. Cardan has a tail. You need to read this now.” Haha! I hope your March is going well, love! ❤

Thanks!
Haha, I swear I need to reread the thing. I keep TRYING to write a review, but find myself staring at my screen instead? I had so many notes on my old phone though.. Stupid bucket of water that had to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.. RIP phone..
Can you believe there are times I totally forget Cardan has a tail? I DON’T UNDERSTAND MY BRAIN.
March is going goooood. Although reading-wise.. that’s an entirely different case, haha.
Hope yours is going better on that part. ❤
