WWW Wednesday

Okay, okay. I know. I’m one day late, but at least it’s here! I skipped last week, and I didn’t want to skip another week so.. you’re getting two posts today! One is this reading update and the other is.. my wrap-up and book haul! So definitely be on the lookout for that one, I’d say!

Time to see what I read!

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

Pasta Pinot & Murder (Willa Friday Food & Wine Mystery #1)Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #3)

I’m reading a cozy murder mystery – I’m not really liking it though? – and the final installment of Lara Jean’s trilogy! I’m about a third in and I’m loving it so much. Not that I expected anything else, to be honest..

Finished reading

The Dark Descent Of Elizabeth FrankensteinOnce & Future (Once & Future, #1)Hold Me Close (Last Frontier Lodge, #7)Speak

I finished four books. Once & Future and Speak are easily the top favorites though. A science fiction Arthur retelling with loads of queer characters? And I ended up loving the science fiction aspect as much as everything else! Which is a definite win for me. I even bought a certain subscription box because I’m in love with the special edition of this book that’s included and I just neeeeed it. As for Speak.. That was a rough one to get through. Rape is not, and never will be, an easy subject to read about but – as I said before – as a survivor, I want to support these books as much as I can. In saying that: I absolutely value and love this book.

Reading next

The Poet XA Thousand Beginnings and Endings

I’m not quite sure yet. The Poet X is definitely an option since people have told me it’s a quick read, but I might get into a fantasy mood after reading contemporary four books in a row so.. we’ll see!

  1. Ohhh, Speak. ♥ Speak was… I don’t have words for what Speak meant to me as a kid. It was one of the rawest, most enraging, most cathartic moments of my life because I had been suppressing a lot of feelings and Laurie Halse Anderson just ripped them AAAALLLL out into the open. I’ve probably reread it over a dozen times since I was a preteen and even bought the graphic novel adaptation last year (and read it within an hour of it arriving in the mail on release day). I sob every time. I’m so glad you enjoyed it, even if it is a painful read. *hugs*
