WWW Wednesday

Yes, it’s been over a month. I know. I’m sorry! I don’t even know where time went, to be honest. Like I said in yesterday’s review intro, Jamie is commanding all my attention whenever he’s awake. And he makes it impossible for me to do anything when he’s not – since he.. you know.. won’t sleep when he’s not touching me in some way, haha. Take that, add the moments the boyfriend is home and I force all three of us to go outside to do stuff and.. there’s not much time left for blogging? I wish it was differently, but I hope to find some more time from now on! I’m going to try and get my WWW’s back and, hopefully, get on top of my reviews.
I might not have been doing this meme but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading. On the contrary. According to my spreadsheet, I read a whopping thirteen books last month! Say whut!

I’m not going to share all those here because.. well.. I simply don’t have the time. I will, however, share the last books I’ve been reading!

Let’s do this!!

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1)The One (The Selection, #3)

I’ve had Aurora Rising on my current reads for a while now. Not because I’m not liking it – on the contrary!  – but because reading physical books is a definite no-no right now? Jamie does not allow. [This is where I’m not ashamed to say “stupid Jamie!” because it’s frustrating sometimes, haha.]
So, when I do get to read – on my phone, that is – I’m reading The One by Kiera Cass. Which is a reread, yay me!

Finished reading

Losing It (Losing It, #1)Faking It (Losing It, #2)The Selection (The Selection, #1)The Elite (The Selection, #2)

In very behaving Kathy-fashion, I’m still focusing on my monthly reading challenge! June is all about rereading, which is what I’ve been trying to do. Unfortunately, I’m totally not in the mood for my planned Shadowhunter re-read, but.. I did fall into the hole of The Selection-series? Oh well!
In anticipation of Roar‘s sequel, I’ve also focused on reading some of Cora Carmack’s other books on my TBR!

Reading next

I have no clue! I got tons of books on my TBR, and I’m going with my mood. I’ll probably continue The Selection-series because I’ve never read past the third book but apart from that? Who knows.

ARC overview

  1. Yay for a WWW update! It’s totally fine that Jamie is taking up a lot of your time; that’s to be expected, but I hope you get to figuring out a way to get more reading and blogging in soon enough.

    1. I’m getting there, slowly.. I’ve started work two weeks ago so it’s even more hectic than before but on the plus-side.. I’m now capable of claiming me-time more easily? Like.. I just left the house at noon to do blog prep at a coffeebar and I wouldn’t have done that a month ago. It’s amazing to just.. sit somewhere and work on my blog!

      Liked by 1 person

    2. It is! I can’t believe I never did it before, to be honest. I definitely recommend just taking your blogging things and heading out to a coffeebar. I’m way more productive PLUS people actually ask what you’re doing if they see you sitting there for hours on end so you end up talking about books with strangers, haha.

    3. I’m weirdly less productive if I go to a coffee shop. I end up just daydreaming and people watching, lol. But it’s still nice to have a change of scenery.

    4. Then you have to find one that’s perfect for people with laptops! Mine has this bar-thing against the wall for people wanting to work so you don’t really get that distracted by the people surrounding you.

  2. Oof, I SUPER feel you on not being allowed to read physical books. Tiny tyrants, I tell you! That was me for the last couple of months for the most part. Isaac is FINALLY letting me pick them up a bit again but it’s still just so much easier to read ebooks or audiobooks. 😂

    1. Jamie now has a tendency of grabbing pages / folders and ripping them apart so books are ENTIRELY out of the question right now. I’m glad my books will be moving into the library in about two months because I’m sooo scared he’ll start crawling and go straight toward those shelves to rip the books out.. xD

    2. Oooooh yup, I remember that age! So stressful. 😅 I was always worried about Isaac grabbing books off shelves and destroying them, too. So far, the only thing he’s really done is wreck a couple of ARCs (which was fine, I had read and disliked them, luckily for me) and he did, a few months ago, grab a crayon and color on the tops (like where the page edges are) of a few books on my TBR cart, but he hasn’t done that since, lmao.

  3. Don’t apologize – enjoy Jamie and your BF and just being a family!

And holy cow, 13 books last month? That’s awesome. 🙂

    1. We definitely are doing that!
I won’t be getting to thirteen books anytime soon again though. Work is eating up all my time and when I’m not working, it’s Jamie-time, haha!

    2. Ah, going back to work is hard when you have a little one, But you’ll figure it out as you go along. You’ll find your groove as he starts to get older. So happy to hear that you’re loving your life, even if your reading might start slacking off a bit. 🙂

    3. Tell me about it. It’s like suddenly my brain has to split in even more parts to be able to cope with everything. With summer holidays, most of my colleagues are absent as well so it feels as if I got back to work in time for the pressure to set in due to having to handle others’ tasks as well. :’)

    1. That’s happening now though. Started work two weeks ago and I’ve barely read a thing since, haha. Guess the work/baby combination will be the downfall of my reading time from now on!

  4. I love The Selection series! I may go back and reread them. Such a good series.
Currently, I’m reading Stalking Jack the Ripper! It’s really good! I’m also listening to Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (for like the millionth time, lol, but it’s such a good series to listen to!)
I just finished reading Heartwood Box by Ann Aguirre. It was my first ARC and it was really good! A little strange in some parts but overall it held my attention from start to finish.
Let’s see, up next on my TBR is……*sigh* I don’t know yet. There are just so many…

    1. I really liked them as well! Not a new favorite series but they’re way more entertaining than I first thought they’d be?! Which is, of course, a good thing, haha.
Ohhh, Stalking Jack the Ripper! I did like Hunting Prince Dracula best out of the three. Maybe you’ve read that one by now? [Since I’m ridiculously behind on comments and all..] I can’t wait for Capturing the Devil to release!
I love listening to the HP audio books; Stephen Fry is.. the best narrator EVER. ❤

      Haha, mood-reading always wins!

  5. Heyyy, welcome back! Congratulations on keeping it up, I have some friends with babies and from what I’ve seen.. you’re a total hero! I will push Aurora Rising forward on my list, I hear so many good things about it!

    1. Well, I wasn’t back entirely apparently but.. I’m giving it another shot now! Guess I’m simply too much of a person that needs “her own thing” apart from work and being a mom. I know people who don’t really need anything else but that’s so not me.
I hope you’ll love it! [Or loved it since I’m catching up on ancient comments. 😛 ]
