It’s my first WWW of the year – and.. it’s the end of January.. Does this give you any idea on how I’m failing at blog life because I feel like I really am? On the other side, I’m still reading and that’s equally important, haha! I do miss my blog and talking bookish stuff and reading others’ blog posts but I simply.. cannot find the time?Hopefully I’ll end up figuring it out this year! I really, really hope so because there’s a lot of changes coming this year as well and I just don’t know how anymore but we’ll manage!
Anyway. You’re here to see what I’ve read lately and I’m here to share exactly that! And.. also to share my first DNF of 2020 – one I hadn’t expected. Let’s dive into this post!
As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!
Talk about two very different books! I’m currently reading an eARC of Foul is Fair, which is a brutal and bloody story of a survivor out for revenge. I’m absolutely living for it. Although I have some issues with the book, I’m definitely all there for the story itself! My second read is a physical ARC of Monstrous Devices – huge thank you to Rock the Boat! – and.. it has tiny murderous robots? It had me spooked in the first couple chapters? I definitely like the fluidity of the events and the writing is easy to read as well.
Basically, I’m looking forward to reading more in these two, haha.
I basically read two of my own books [Capturing the Devil and Wild Beauty] and.. all others were ARC’s? Talk about tackling the ARC’s head-on, right?! In short, I adored Capturing the Devil and Wild Beauty. The writing in the latter is whimsical and beautiful and I can’t wait to read more! As for Off Script, I posted my review last week so you can read all my thoughts here! And.. as for the other four? Those reviews are coming your way over the next couple of weeks! I do recommend checking out Feather if you’re into angels and fantasy; and you should without-a-doubt check out The Sky Is Mine for a heart-wrenching survivor-story.
As for the book I DNF’d yesterday? Or actually, I put it aside before yesterday but the official “Goodreads-removal” happened yesterday.. is.. The Miseducation of Cameron Post and I’m honestly shocked myself! The book has such a high rating on Goodreads and I was looking forward to reading it but.. unfortunately I didn’t connect with the characters or the story or the writing? One huge case of “nope, not for me”.
Uuh.. Probably more ARC’s? Which you can see an overview of a bit lower in this post. But if I have the opportunity to pick up one of my own books, It’ll probably be A Heart so Fierce and Broken because I need to know what happens. And why so many people seem to dislike this book?!
Which one of my ARC’s would you pick up first?
How has your reading been this year?
Do you read daily? Every two days? Do you plan your reading time?
If you have a WWW-post of your own, feel free to leave a link!
