SYNOPSIS
Charlie, a highly-strung, openly gay over-thinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, meet at a British all-boys grammar school. Friendship blooms quickly, but could there be something more…?
Charlie Spring is in Year 10 at Truham Grammar School for Boys. The past year hasn’t been too great, but at least he’s not being bullied anymore, and he’s sort of got a boyfriend, even if he’s kind of mean and only wants to meet up in secret.
Nick Nelson is in Year 11 and on the school rugby team. He’s heard a little about Charlie – the kid who was outed last year and bullied for a few months – but he’s never had the opportunity to talk to him. That is, until the start of January, in which Nick and Charlie are placed in the same form group and made to sit together.
They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn’t think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and sometimes good things are waiting just around the corner…

So.. I already raved about I Was Born For This and Radio Silence. You cannot expect me to stop since I also read the first two volumes of Heartstopper. This.. Basically means Alice Oseman has reached the magic number of “four books loved by Kathy”, which in turn means she is officially on my list of favorite authors!
I honestly don’t know if I can call this post a review, since.. I simply wanted to share her books more. They deserve to be read by as many people as possible. They’re deliciously queer, amazingly cute and.. so.. honest and pure. I guess that wraps it about up, no?
Unless you want some on the art since these are graphic novels! And the art is.. amazingly cute? Or did I use those exact words already to describe the books? Guess I did.. I might need new words to describe things since I’m a bit stuck here.
I loved all aspects of Heartstopper. I loved the characters, the way their friendships and relationships were shown, the way I felt what they were going through. I liked how Charlie gets defended and protected by others, but still has room to try and do it himself as well. I loved.. everything.
And, yes, I have Heartstopper Vol. 3 on preorder. Let’s forget about that book buying ban, okay. It’s not valid when it comes to my favorite authors and since Alice is now on that list…
Heartstopper! I’m the complete opposite, I’ve been in love with Charlie and Nick for a while now but the only novel of Oseman’s I’ve read is the Charlie and Nick novella 😅 They are all on my TBR though!

Ooooh you’re in for a TREATTT. I absolutely love the contemporaries she’s written [and I’ve read]. There are some left on my TBR but I’m keen on reading those as well, haha.

This is like the only drawback to manga… you read them in five minutes and have to wait months for the next volume!
On the bright side, I have two volumes of Ao Haru Ride that I need to read. 😀

True! It’s like with the illustrated editions of HP. On one hand, I read the books but.. it’s not the same with all the artwork in the newer ones and the wait for those is.. terrible, haha.
Woohoo! 😀
