Tellus is the second part of a trilogy by Tyffany Hackett. A trilogy with a diverse cast, with a brilliant story and with some other elements definitely worth mentioning. Want to know more? Read my review!
A YA contemporary with a whole lot of darkness that struck a chord. So many subjects that are rarely spoken about or not represented often enough.. All combined in this book.
Fangirl has been on my TBR for ages - ages, I tell you! The moment I knew fan-fiction was involved, I just had to get myself a copy. I used to read a lot of fan-fiction myself years and years ago. Seeing it incorporated in a book.. Well, let's just say I was curious to see how it would play out.
When I participated in Liza's TBR Jar Readathon, the second book I pulled out of my jar was I Was Born For This. It had been on my TBR for quite a while since the author is coming to YALC and it was one of the books that caught my interest immediately. I finally got to read it - and in time for YALC at that!
Today's one of those days were something rare happens: I'm part of a blog tour. I rarely do that, but I really wanted to share this book because I believe it to be one of a kind. Set in South Africa - more specifically Cape Town - I was intrigued immediately. I love romance novels set in different countries outside of the "ordinary" London and Paris ones. Romance in Africa? Count me in!
I've owned this book for a while, which caused me to forget what it was about. Since Sara Barnard is coming to YALC, I knew I had to read it before then so I decided to pick it up. Suddenly I remembered. Social anxiety, deafness, sign language. I was bound to love this book.
So, you might know I'm not really one who picks up science fiction very often. I always feel like it's a gamble when I do because I'm still in that place where I have to discover what kind of science fiction I like and which ones I don't. Have to admit though, this is one I liked.
