As you might know - or might now find out about - there's another Magical Readathon coming our way very soon! Christmas-related, might I add! Harry Potter-related, might I shout! Can you see how ready am I for this? I'm not that far off from shouting this off the roofs, to be honest. I love-love-love Book Roast's Magical Readathons, so I can't pass up on this one either.
I have finally done it! After numerous people telling me I should definitely read The Book Thief, I actually decided to listen and pick it up. I've heard so many good things about it, so to say my expectations were high.. Is probably an understatement? No, not true. I went in expecting nothing because.. me and reading historical fiction? Not that great of a combination..
If there's one thing I love about one year ending and a new one beginning, it's all the possibilities of setting goals, finding challenges and compiling lists of things we want to achieve during the next year. I figured I can't possibly be on my own in that one, since I know we all love reading challenges. Not to mention setting ourselves reading goals to challenge ourselves throughout the year! So here I am.. setting some goals / challenges!
It's December and I'm still quite.. shocked? People told me my pregnancy would fly by and I knew the year was already flying by but those two things combined? It's unreal, people. It really is. I feel like I should have at least three more months to get everything in order before even thinking about the holidays? Wishful thinking since that's not the amount of time I'm getting, haha. I can't be the only one though..
I wanted something light, romantic and hopefully funny. I was really keeping my fingers crossed for that latter one since my last attempt at a humorous read failed horribly. Did this novel succeed at fulfilling my needs? Only one way to find out!
Contemporary and LGBTQIA+? I could not resist - and I don't think any of you would expect me to either. The synopsis itself intrigued me as well but did this novel gave me everything I hoped for?
November was a month where I focused on the goals I set at the start of the year. I wanted to read five specific books - did I succeed? And how does this month's haul look? Find out here!
