After reading the Paranormalcy-trilogy by Kiersten White, I wondered whether her newer work would be more up my alley so.. I dove into some horror!
I was in total awe of the cover the first time I stumbled upon The Gilded Wolves. As you all know, I'm usually not that big on historical fiction but.. First the cover, then the blurb and.. I was sold?
I read some short books lately, so I decided to do another bunch of mini reviews! Here are my short reviews on The Last Train, Fawn and A Holiday by Gaslight!
I have finally done it! After numerous people telling me I should definitely read The Book Thief, I actually decided to listen and pick it up. I've heard so many good things about it, so to say my expectations were high.. Is probably an understatement? No, not true. I went in expecting nothing because.. me and reading historical fiction? Not that great of a combination..
After reading Stalking Jack the Ripper, I didn't start this one immediately. I don't understand why; not at all. I wish I'd dived in as soon as I got my hands on this book. On the other hand.. With Halloween around the corner, now seemed a great time to pick this one up! So let's see how often Kerri Maniscalco succeeded at freaking me out this time around.
A little while ago, I got a request to read and review A Sky Painted Gold by Laura Wood. Although historical fiction really isn't a genre I usually lean towards, the blurb intrigued me. One particular review I read convinced me to give it a shot and I'm truly glad I did!
Usually I review the first book in a series and then stop reviewing the entire series - more because that's my own personal choice than anything else. Today I'm doing it a bit differently. I'm reviewing the first two installments of The Finishing School-series to see whether or not I should continue them.
