Once in a while, a thriller comes along and I have this hope of it being a pageturner. THEN SHE VANISHES did NOT disappoint on that account because I had to find all the excuses to continue my read!
After the.. kind of disappointment that was Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu, I really was hoping for Maas not to go down the same path with this novel. Need I say I should NOT have worried, Probably not. At this point I can't even imagine Maas disappointing me anymore and.. I kind of don't understand why I was worried in the first place? Because this was.. amazing.
I have to admit - I'm seriously late with this review and reading this story. I had some issues with the format - couldn't get the ARC on my Kindle, then it wouldn't open on my computer anymore and.. well.. Let's just say I was so intrigued by the synopsis that I ended up buying a finished copy instead! I couldn't say no to something that sounded like a Cinderella-retelling, but contemporary and with LGBTQIA+ characters. I just couldn't. Was it worth it? Wasn't it? Only one way to find out, folks!
