I'm naturally drawn to books with queer rep but Girl Mans Up hit another cord because.. some parts sounded so very familiar to twelve-to-twenty-four year old me. On top of that, there's other tough subjects and it's an overall.. amazing book that definitely left its mark on me.
First time reading a book in verse and.. it was a success? This definitely added to the punch The Poet X gave me!
I rarely share reviews on Kindle freebies, but this time is different because I simply NEEDED to share! Read my review to find out why!
I was totally in the mood for a whimsical, circus-y setting and was told Daughter of the Burning City would deliver on that front. Unfortunately.. there were definitely some downsides to this novel..
I honestly cannot believe I waited this long to read The Upside of Unrequited. It's not like I didn't want to read it, I simply didn't get around to it? Other books kept distracting me and now I'm blaming all those books for keeping me from this precious, little gem. I fell in love, you guys.
If you know my blog, you know I also love my food, my munches. Seeing the blurb of this novel, I pretty much jumped at it. I needed it, craved it, wanted to devour it right that second. Why would I not want to read a story set during a cooking competition?
