A YA contemporary with a whole lot of darkness that struck a chord. So many subjects that are rarely spoken about or not represented often enough.. All combined in this book.

Grief is hard to read about, even more so if it's the loss of a sibling. But there's so much more to this story than just that which makes it worth reading even more so. Definitely one to pick up! But.. read my review first maybe?

I'm naturally drawn to books with queer rep but Girl Mans Up hit another cord because.. some parts sounded so very familiar to twelve-to-twenty-four year old me. On top of that, there's other tough subjects and it's an overall.. amazing book that definitely left its mark on me.
