When you hear about a book with libraries, you cannot resist. Or at least, I couldn't. Here's my review on this near perfect book for fantasy-loving bookworms!
In true Limp Bizkit-style, I'm going with "it's my way or the high way!" on this readathon since I'm going to do it for THREE months - probably - instead of one. Why? Because new-mom-life, that's why! Time to check out my TBR!
I'm naturally drawn to books with queer rep but Girl Mans Up hit another cord because.. some parts sounded so very familiar to twelve-to-twenty-four year old me. On top of that, there's other tough subjects and it's an overall.. amazing book that definitely left its mark on me.
First time reading a book in verse and.. it was a success? This definitely added to the punch The Poet X gave me!
Two queer authors got together and decided to write a queer retelling of King Arthur - science fiction-style! Is it worth it? YES, YES AND YES.
I was totally in the mood for a whimsical, circus-y setting and was told Daughter of the Burning City would deliver on that front. Unfortunately.. there were definitely some downsides to this novel..
Can you imagine my face when I came across this? Cinderella Boy? That equals a Cinderella retelling, but LGBTQIA+? I don't even want to try and describe my reaction but there was screaming involved - and maniacally clicking the request-button. Did it live up to my expectations? Did it blow me away?
